Congratulations go out to Lauren Jones and Ashleigh Linse, two of our U18 Women team members,  for being selected to receive the 2013 Joan Judd Grant from the United Soccer League.  The girls will be honored at the Annual Joan Judd Banquet in early May.  Lauren will be attending the University of Florida this Fall while Ashleigh will be attending the University of Central Florida.  We are very proud of both of you!

If you are interested in becoming a USSF Referee, OSC will be sponsoring an Entry Level Class this August 2013. The class is taught by the Florida State Referee instructors and you must register online at their site.  A link has been provide below. *NOTE* The class will not be listed until after July 1st so stay tuned to this site or our Facebook page and we will advised when the class is posted and available for registration.  Also, we will be offering a Recertification Class for our current Referees in October 2013. See the chart below for specific information regarding both offerings.

OYSA has teamed up again with Buffalo Wild Wings in Oldsmar for the "Eat Wings - Raise Funds" program. Make sure to pick up your official BWW Home Team Advantage card at Spring Fling. Simply present the card every time you go to BWW in Oldsmar and they will donate 15% of the total back to OYSA!

Congratulations to Coach Chris Duffy and the U18 Women’s Competitive Team on their hard fought march to become the 2013 FYSA Region C Cup U19 Champions.  Both their Semifinal and Final matches went to overtime and then PK’s.  Everyone on this team made a contribution that led to a great weekend of soccer.  The team now advances to the Presidents Cup Tournament in Auburndale next month. Great job ladies and good luck next month!

The  newest addition to our Concession Stand at Canal Park isn’t something you can eat, it’s the clubs’ SkyScan Lightning Detector.  Our new SkyScan device will be able to give us ample warning when approaching clouds have electrical activity.  It can detect strikes from as far away as 40 miles giving us time to monitor a storms progress and take action to clear the fields well before it reaches the park.
